Governor’s MiSTEM Advisory Council

Plans for 2021-22

The Governor’s MiSTEM Advisory Council has established three priorities that will move Michigan forward in 2021-22:

Strengthen the Network to address disparities and inspire new, dynamic ways of learning in and out of the classroom.
- Address disparities across the system
- Continue the development of problem-, place- and project-based learning
- Inspire learning through community partnerships
Contribute to the COVID-19 response, helping educators and students transition and reimagine diverse learning environments.
- Be responsive while focusing on essential/resilient careers
- Collaborate, particularly through (Research-Practice Partnership) RPP, to provide tools to support diverse environments where students are learning
Elevate the need for computer science and provide access to programming, which will help an entire pipeline of students find achievement and success in
high-demand, high-wage careers of tomorrow.
- Award grant funds to support computer science
- Collaborate with partners to systematically increase access to computer science
